Geoff has knocked it out the park again with this one, filling the 128 pages with some of the world's best custom bikes, event coverage and more than the usual amount of test rides of newly released motorcycles.
The Oukasts are a small group of mates who get regularly get together to talk about and work on some cool customs and hot rods. The guys made the 800km road trip from Sydney down to The Boogaloo event in Victoria recently, to which we also went and published our coverage right here. I grabbed the Outkasts on the Sunday morning of the show to catch up for a five minute interview.
When Justin showed up to one of our Coffee & Classics events in his '66 Mustang project, he turned the heads of everyone there. Not only that, it sounded tough and Justin takes his family around in it, baby seat and all. We just had to take a closer look so we made the trip out to the sticks to talk to Justin and to find out more about this mean machine.
When we put the call out recently for cars to feature here on the Fuel Tank app and website, Dale was one of the first to send through photos of his stunning 'Z'. I run my own fence building service. I found a bike in Ballarat that was registered and ready to go. It was a little far from my home in Box Hill, but this guy needed a new fence and I needed a new bike...
The first Boogaloo Invitational was held in Castlemaine, Victoria and wound down just a matter of hours ago. Organised by Des Russell and Tesha Mahoney, the Boogaloo is a traditional hot rod and custom motorcycle event, catering to enthusiasts of pre-1965 hot rods & customs and pre-1975 American and British bobbers and choppers.

Darren Bevan (Bev, to his mates,) already had a few cars. A nice FC, and EJ to drive the kids around in, a Chev roadster... that sort of thing. Nice cars. Tidy rides. His mates had hot rods, and Darren went to swaps and events and often came away with something large enough to fit in the bed of a truck. But he didn’t have one. This was a problem. A furniture removalist by trade, Darren travelled more than your average guy. On one work trip, he spotted a possibility on the side of the road. That possibility turned into a sale, and not long after, Darren was the owner of a rather unfinished 1945 K model Bedford pickup. A truck of his own.
The Australian Grand Prix was first run in the late 1920s at Phillip Island. For eight years the races continued on the rectangular dirt road circuit. This unpredictable and unstable surface called for creative mechanics and thus, the ‘Australian Special’ was born.
