Project Porsche 914 | Primer Time
Andrew and his guys have been cracking on, making great progress on the Project Porsche 914 body. This week I was invited to go in and take a look on the day that they were prepping the surfaces for the first coat of primer.
They've done some amazing work and seeing a coat of primer laid down on the body starts to get me excited for the final finish.
I dropped the new bumpers in on the same day. I went for a set of backdated bumpers from GT Racing in the States that arrived last week and a 1974 limited edition lower front valance. I haven't taken some solid photos of them yet, so I'll do that on the next visit.
Hopefully, we're looking at finalising those and getting everything painted in the next few weeks, so watch this space.
I've also tentatively got someone lined up to look at the engine, so I'll report back when that firms up. For now, I'm frantically looking online for parts so that I can hit the Christmas deadline. It's going to be tight, but I'm hoping to get the car finished for a cool Porsche show just outside Melbourne at the end of January.
*Update... Here are a few pics of the bumpers as they were, straight out of the box.
